On 24 February 2020, in Zakopane, traditionally on the occasion of the conference "Innovations in management and production engineering" co-organized by KIP PAN, we held the first meeting of the PAN Production Engineering Committee  for the 2020-2023 term. The meeting was primarily electoral and was chaired byProf. D. Sc. Eng.   Czesława Rosik-Dylewska, Corresponding Member of PAN, Vice-president of the Board of Curators of the IV Department of PAN. The chairman of the meeting delivered an interesting presentation on PAN structure, its objectives and tasks, and under the subsequent item of the agenda the election of the chairman of the committee, 2 deputies, a secretary and 2 members of the presidium were held. The participants decided that the KIP structure and people managing the respective elements of this structure (sections and teams) will be appointed at the next KIP meeting, and in accordance with the regulations, this meeting, which should also pass the program of the committee for the term of office would, should be held within 3 months from the date of the first election meeting. As a consequence of the elections held in a secret ballot, the elected acting candidates to take up the appropriate functions in the presidium of KIP PAN, whose formal assumption of the function will take place after they are appointed by the relevant structures of the PAN, were:

D. Sc. Eng. Katarzyna Halicka, prof. uczelni –acting member of the Presidium

Prof. D. Sc. Eng. Krzysztof Santarek, prof. uczelni – acting member of the Presidium.

Those elected for the 2020-2023 term of office, thanked the current President of KIP PAN, Prof. D. Sc. Eng. Ryszard Knosala, d.hc.multi, for his 11-year, more than 2-term, managing of its operations and creating the structures and core curricula of the production engineering discipline (currently forming an element of mechanical engineering). In recognition of the merits of prof. Ryszard Knosala, the gathered voted unanimously (also in a secret ballot) in support of the request to the relevant PAN structures to grant him the title of Honorary Chairman of KIP PAN.

In the next section, the tasks of KIP PAN for the 2020-2023 term were discussed in brief.

Chairperson of the meeting, Ms. Prof. D. Sc. Eng.  Czesława Rosik-Dylewska, Corresponding Member of PAN, Vice-President of the Board of Curators of the IV Division of PAN, thanked the almost complete panel of assembled committee, for effectiveness in conducted elections, interesting discussion, and the current Chairman for his creative work for the benefit of the discipline. Wishing everyone successes and job satisfaction in the new term, she termined the first meeting of the KIP PAN in the 2020-2023 term.
